WASHIGNTON, D.C. - The American Council On Renewable Energy has launched a website to help U.S. companies connect with Chinese companies and institutions that are working to expand and finance renewable energy development projects in China.

“China has made clear its commitment to advance renewable and clean energy solutions for meeting its vast and growing energy needs,” said ACORE President Michael Eckhart, adding that, “this has tremendous business implications for U.S. companies who are financing or building renewable energy products and services.”

The site provides English language news updates on activities in Solar, Wind, and RE Policy. In addition, the site provides information on other initiatives underway across China, including information on regulations for doing business in China, downloadable market analyses and reports, and contact information on key industry and government decision makers.

The site has been developed as part of a new US/China development program being spearheaded by ACORE to educate its more than 600 U.S. members about burgeoning business opportunities in China. ACORE envisions the site promoting collaboration and an exchange of information that will help advance the scale up of renewable energy initiatives in both countries.

The China portion of the site provides U.S. companies who are ACORE members, the ability to make their information, including links to their own websites, accessible to Chinese companies participating in the program. ACORE states that Chinese companies will also be encouraged to post their information on the site.

ACORE has opened its membership to international organizations for the past year and says that it welcomes any member who can certify their company’s contribution to the advancement of renewable energy.

The new ACORE/China website is currently public and its features are visible to all viewers. In addition to the new website, ACORE is in planning meetings with China’s renewable energy leaders in government and business to establish an annual joint U.S/China Great Wall Energy Conference and Exhibition

According to ACORE, the goal of such conferences would be to convene U.S. and Chinese leaders, government organizations, companies, and educational institutions to work on the goal of advancing relations in support of renewable energy development and implementation.
